PANORAMA MEZCAL + BARTENDER LEGION
Last Wednesday we had a blast representing Cazadores Tequila for Panorama Mezcal’s Bartender Legion Volume 10. It was quite a rowdy night of agave spirits and speed bartending.
Bartender Legion is a Mexican spirits cocktail tasting part of Panorama Mezcal, for bartenders looking for a way to develop new ideas behind the bar to promote the diverse array of Mexican spirits in New York City, such as Tequila, Sotol, Raicilla, Bacanora, Mezcal and more. The event presents 5 bartenders, each paired with a different agave spirit, in an exhibition setting to a crowd of fans. Always a great event to check out if you love agave, good vibes, and love to get weird.

We served 150+ cocktails in under 10 minutes. We danced our asses off to some Cardi B and Bad Bunny. Then, we started quite a trend with the crowd doing laybacks of tequila. While some bartenders chose to jigger their cocktails, or build each cocktail individually, we represented Mother’s Ruin and poured everything straight from the bottle. (#FreePourOrDie) We built all our cocktails together: Syl poured batch and Kit poured tequila, and we shook and served cocktails as a team. We were among great friends with Camila Fernandez from Osamil, Reuben Santos from The Dutch, Thomas Spaeth from Dear Irving, and Felix Campos from The Garret. The real MVP of the night was Alan Ruesga-Pelayo, Cazadores’ American brand ambassador, who was working the crowd while we got to work cranking out cocktails.

Dolin Blanc Vermouth
Grapefruit Juice
Lime Juice
Chili Piquin
Combine Tequila, Vermouth, Gin, Grapefruit Juice, Lime Juice, and simple syrup in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously, strain over fresh ice, and top with a sprinkle of chili piquin or your favorite salt/pepper/sugar/chili rimming mix.
